malacca pronounced as developed state

On 20 Oct 2010, the prime minister of Malaysia, Najib Razak pronounced malacca as a developed state. Thousands of Malaccan were gathering to witness the announcement made. As the Prime Minister was at the UMNO General Assembly, the announcement was made using tele-conferencing.

Summarizing his happiness, the chief minister of said that it was a truly proud moment for all the people of Malacca. The state was recognised by OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development) . The state has exceeded the minimum level in virtually all indicators.

In a separate location, the Malacca Monorail was declared opened.
