The island has seen an increasing number of tourist from northern europe, coming to escape the cold chilly winter. I can them the escapee tourist. They remind me of the migrating Asian birds that migrate from the Siberia to Australia.
Some of the hotels have the visitors composition of 70% of the guests are from Europe and the balance are from Australia. The tend to book well in advance, compared to the local who tend to book within a week.
