a. Drive around the island - You may book the car at your hometown and fetch at Langkawi airport. If you like some adventure, you may rent a car from unregistered agent at the airport, it can be cheaper, but the risk is on you as you may not be fully covered by international insurance. You can get the map from the tourist department.
b. Islands Hoping - You can join the tour or charter a boat. The Langkawi islands consists of about 100 islands, majority of them are inhibited. Some of the well known islands are the Pulau Dayang Bunting dan Pulau Singa Besar.
Pulau Dayang Bunting can be translated as The Island of Pregnant Maiden. It has to do the old folk's lagend, when the childless couple would be blessed with children after drinking the water from the freshwater lake on the island. Of course we know the myth is not true, but it does explained how the island gets its name.
The other island is Pulau Singa Besar, translated as the Island of Big Lion, where the visitors can witness the eagles feeding seasons.
c. Langkawi Cable Rides - It is situated in the main island, Langkawi. The ride can be taken from the base station about 20 minutes away from the airport. The ride is about 2.2 km to the submit. At the top you can enjoy the view of langkawi from the skybridge.
d. Kilim Geoforest - You can explore the mangrove swamp and rock formation. You can take a boat ride through the swamp watch the natural habitat such as the crabs and small fish that can walk on land.
