This year, the employers are feeling the effects of the holidays. The Chinese new year is on 23 Jan. There are a few few more holidays around the date, the Federal Day on 1 Feb, The Prophet's birthday on 5 Feb and the Thaipusam on 7 Feb.
Many of the employers and companies are feeling a season of low productivity during the holiday time. Many representative of the employers are arguing against the large number of holidays. Some even suggest that the religious related holidays to be on personal basis based on the workers belief. It does not be a holiday for those who do not celebrate it.
